Weddings and special occasions usually meant that a room or venue hired in table linens, chair covers and various decorative fabrics. Suppliers like Ambience would “dress the room” prior to the event and then call to collect everything once it had finished and then wash and iron everything before hiring it out again. This is the business format that Ambience began from their kitchen table and decided to grow through franchising.
From Local Supplier to Market Leader
In the first 6 weeks of the franchise launch 6 franchises were sold, and within 2 years 42 had been sold and the company went from being a small local supplier doing 120 weddings and events per year to a market leading brand supplying over 4,000 weddings through it’s franchise network! As a lesson in what can be achieved when a small private business franchises their business this is a great franchise case study.
Each franchisee worked from a home base, had flexible hours and paid a fixed fee royalty as well as being charged for the hire of linen from Head Office.
